FAQ

Good news coeliac and gluten intolerant friends, 99.999% of Nutra Organics products are gluten free with the one exception of our BREWERS YEAST in our wholefood pantry range. Brewers yeast is derived from wheat and is purchased as a wholefood product from a completely different facility than our manufacturers.  We are able to guarantee gluten-free as all of our products are manufactured in a certified gluten-free premises and we test every product before it hits the shelf just to make triple sure.

We use barley and wheat grass in a multitude of our products such as our Clean Greens and Super Greens & Reds for example. We ensure that our grasses are harvested at specifically 16cm tall, before the grain head has a chance to grow (the gluten containing component of the plant) and prevents any risk of cross-contamination. Furthermore, we test our products before they hit the shelves to make triple sure of this.

With our green powders, we recommend you start off with small amounts and slowly build up to around a tablespoon a day. The reason we recommend this, is because our Clean Greens and Super Greens + Reds contain Chlorella which is a heavy metal detoxifier. If you have not taken chlorella before it is best to start off with small amounts and build up your body's resistance to it to get the best detoxing results.

On each of Nutra Organics products there is a dosage, which explains how much to take and suggested uses. Please see the product pages for uses and recipes.

Yes, our products are safe for children to take, however we do recommend that children take smaller amounts than the suggested amounts for adults - Please follow the guildlines set on the package. If your child is under 12 months old we suggest that you half the dose - or take half a teaspoon - whichever is smaller. Also we always advise that for a child under 12 months you seek advise from your health care practioner as every child has different sensitivities, food tastes and nutritional requirements.

As Nutra Organics is a proudly Australian owned and operated company we must adhere to all of the requirements outlined under FSANZ and the Food Standards Code 2006. Therefore any product that contain vitamins, minerals or amino acids we place under a category of a FORMULATED SUPPLEMENTARY SPORTS FOOD. Foods placed in this category unfortunately are not recommended for consumption by persons under the age of 15, or pregnant and breastfeeding women.

We would like to put your mind at ease about the silica we use in our products - yes the packet does carry a warning as some silica contains toxic additives. You would have noted our silica beads are clear in colour, they do not have any nasty chemicals added to the gel beads (some silica beads may be blue, pink or even orange)

Every single aspect of our products is 100% food safe, we will not add anything to our products that we would not have in our own homes.

The saturated fat content on our nutritional label is a result of what naturally occurring fat content is in each of the raw materials.

For example if carrot has a saturated fat content of x when it is eaten the same fat content is put in the nutritional label.

We do not add any saturated fat, palm oil or any other trans fats to our products, it's all naturally occurring.

These naturally occurring fats in the foods that we dry are very important for the human body, not all fats are the same.

The fact is, all saturated fats are not created equal.

The operative word here is "created," because some saturated fats occur naturally, while other fats are artificially manipulated into a saturated state through the man-made process called hydrogenation.

Why does the seal come off when you open the lid for the first time ?

A: the seals are heat sensitive which means as the lid is screwed down it is sealed at the same time, sometimes the seal can lift when the jar is first opened.

As the seal and the lid can become one when finalising the product, rest assured it has been properly sealed

Majority of Nutra Organics products are classifiable as vegan however there are a few exceptions. Our Bone Broth range truly is made from organic chicken or bovine bone so therefore certainly isn’t vegan. Likewise with our Collagen Beauty and Body which contains bovine derived Collagen, our Natural Gelatin powder and our Mermaid and Golden Lattes as they contain Manuka Honey. However we do make a conscious effort to utilise only organic and ethically produced animal products to ensure we are doing our bit for the environment, our animal friends and fellow humans. If you are after a bone broth alternative we do have two delightful kinds of Vegetable Broth which are vegan. We have also made sure that no vegan misses out on our Superfood latte’s by creating our Velvet latte which contains no animal products.

None of our products contain nuts and 99.999% of our products are produced in a nut free facility with the one exception of our Wholefood Bars, for this reason they are labelled with the appropriate allergy warning statement.

When Nutra Organics started, we relied heavily upon our fellow small businesses to help us grow. We believe in returning the favour by supporting them and ensuring that all of our products are manufactured within a 100km radius of our headquarters in Currumbin, Queensland. Of course this isn’t always possible when it comes to packaging our goods but we will not leave australian shores and only go so far as another state when absolutely necessary.

Wherever possible we strive to use Australian grown products. Unfortunately with fruit and vegetable products this is not always possible due to variations in the seasons ie. Mangoes only grow in Queensland during the summer months. There is also the fact that some fruits and vegetables simply aren’t grown in Australia such as our Brazilian supplied Acai. These factors aside we do however go to every effort to ensure that our suppliers are not only ethical but must adhere to our strict certified organic regulations.

Nutra Organics blended products are all manufactured in Australian facilities within 100km of our headquarters in Currumbin, Queensland. We also employ equal opportunity employee's through the endeavour foundation and synergy group to package our whole food pantry range. We do this to ensure we are doing our part to give back to our community and that all Australians have equal opportunities in the workplace.

All of our tub packagings are 100% BPA free and very much recyclable. We use these for products such as our Collagen Beauty or Protein Powders for example. However, our pouch packagings that are used for our Superfood Latte’s and Bone Broths, for example, are not recyclable and need to be disposed of in a responsible manner in general waste.

We are currently looking into new packaging that is 100% recyclable so stay tuned!

Nutra Organics is currently a food company that creates products solely for the purpose of nourishing our bodys with organic, high quality healthfoods. Therefore we do not promote any of our products to have any therapeutic effect or benefit. For further information regarding this or any concerns you may have regarding our products and a specific health condition we recommend consulting your primary physician.

All raw ingredients made in Australia or imported must adhere to strict guidelines for the content of heavy metals set by each states food authority. This means that all raw ingredients are tested and that no ingredients that do not meet the strict parameters are not able to be used in production. This is an australia wide requirement and food law that Nutra Organics will always abide by to ensure our products are not only the highest quality nutritionally but also the safest.

The refractance method is where the produce is pulped then laid onto large pads. Gently moving underneath the pulped produce is water at around 80 degrees, which gently evaporates the water out of the produce - leaving a dried product. The nutrient levels retained are around 65% -80% which means temperature sensitive vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are concentrated and retained in the finished powder.

This huge retention and concentration of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants such as anthocyanins and polyphenols is what gives the finished product its naturally intensified flavour and vibrant colours. Furthermore, seeing as the resulting product is so beautiful, there is no need to add any other colourants or flavours to the product, meaning all you are getting is a fruit or vegetable as close to its nature as possible but only in powdered form.

Another benefit of having fruit or vegetable dehydrated by the refractance method is that the chance of spoiling are very slim as the moisture needed for bacteria proliferation is completely evaporated, therefore fruits and vegetables in this form will maintain their freshness and are shelf stable to last up to months in the pantry!

When our Collagen Body and Collagen Beauty are first put into their tubs, the powder is extremely fluffy and the tub is filled to the top, the powder then settles to the point in which you have received it. If we were to put it into smaller tubs they would be overflowing and we would not be able to fill it with the weight of the product specified on the packaging. Please be assured that your full dose of collagen is in there as we sell by weight and not volume.
